Thanks for considering Songdog Music
Songdog Music was conceived to bring a more contemporary, innovative approach to music education.
We’ve trashed a lot of education stereotypes and replaced them with an approach that’s both more fun and more academically rich. We nurture your love of music and your enthusiasm and help you take the right steps to be proficient at your instrument.
When you train with Songdog you will be with the area’s leading music instructors with many years of hands on playing skill and instruction background.
Our program integrates real-world music with your training. We’ll show you practical skills that real artists use to make the music you love.
It won’t be long until you are saying; “wow I thought that song was complex, but now I can play it easily.”
Your instructions will take place in a relaxed setting with a pace that you set. Our goal is to provide our students with an extraordinary musical experience.
Songdog founder, Jay Albert is a musician and educator. His professional vision is to share great music and help people achieve more of a connection to it, whether helping students learn to play or “teaching” an audience by means of a performance. Students from around the Cleveland area have benefited from his music lessons.
Jay holds degrees in guitar, music theory and composition from Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music and Kent State University. He has taught at both of his alma maters and elsewhere, from PreK to graduate level and has supervised arts education departments for several organizations. He presents workshops, classes and seminars, teaches lessons, and performs as guitarist and singer-songwriter.
The name Songdog comes from a traditional nic-name for the Coyote. In the desert, most often at night, they sing for communication, grief and joy.
